Hello humans,

Happy birthday, Andy Windsor!

The British police get a lot wrong, bless ‘em, but there’s no way in a million aeons they picked 19th February to arrest the ex-prince by accident. They knew what they were doing. Besides, Randy Andy’s probably used to spending his big day on a strange bed and in handcuffs, so maybe it was an act of kindness.

Of course it’s not for sex crimes that Andy had his collar felt this week. Given the extraordinary weight of evidence apparently against him, you might think it would be strange if that doesn’t follow, but who knows? I wouldn’t want to prejudice a trial. ;)

But no, for now he’s under investigation for Misconduct in Public Office, an offence that BBC News tells us is ‘so complicated’ and ‘difficult to prosecute’.

Is it really so hard? I may be an alien interloper to these parts but it looks like a pretty straightforward question to me. Still, what do I know? It’s taken the UK at least fifteen years to get Andy to this point, so I doubt this case is going to be resolved any time soon.

As has been remarked elsewhere, the only thing for sure is that whenever Andy is in police custody, we can expect him to be watched like a hawk on 23-hour CCTV…

I notice that King Charlie and Prince Willy have made a point of issuing statements about their bro/uncle this week, trying to distance themselves and saying ‘the law must take its course’. No shit, Sherlock. They can hardly claim otherwise, or the monarchy would crumble faster than you can say Pizza Express Loyalty Card.
